This is author Steven Levenkron's answer Best Little Girl ends on an up note with Kessa getting ready to leave the hospital and achieving some success in therapy With this engaging seuel Mr Levenkron once again goes into the thought process of the anorexic mind Here he focuses mainly on Kessa's therapy sessions and explores the is

Steven Levenkron ☆ 5 review Read ¹ Kessa Author Steven Levenkron å PDF, eBook or Kindle ePUB free KESSA is the compelling seuel to THE BEST LITTLE GIRL IN THE WORLD that can also be read independently Here again readers are drawn into the world of a teenage girl suffering from anorexia nervosa Kessa's character is strongly. Even worse than The Best Little Girl in the World Kessa is just pasted together text from the previous novel along with a preachy story about how a doctor can help the girl get back to the sunlight of realityOf course the girl couldn t overcome her illness herself That would be silly she s insane Only a caring selfless doctor could help her reach the light at the end of the tunnel No the fact that the author is a doctor hasn t contributed to this biased opinion at allIt was obvious blatantly in fact that Levenkron was trying to incorporate himself into his own fictional novel and that he was trying to make himself and his profession look self righteous So naturally this book was just a preachy outdated mentally ill people are psychos kind of book I think the only way to really understand what it s like to have anorexia nervosa and to recover from it would be to hear from a person who has actually gone through it

Steven Levenkron ☆ 5 review Read ¹ Kessa Author Steven Levenkron å PDF, eBook or Kindle ePUB free R anorexia are made real for readers who will feel compassion toward Kessa as they gain understanding of the disease KESSA is an intense look at the grueling therapeutic recovery period after leaving the support of the hospital. I ve seen a lot of complaints about Levenkron s The Best Little Girl in the World and I suspect that Levenkron wrote Kessa as a way of addressing those complaints and perhaps redeeming himselfMany parts of Kessa though are simply flashbacks to or rewrites of The Best Little Girl in the World and frankly the rest of it seems to be the same thing in a different setting True Levenkron is painting a picture of a girl who relapses a revision of the first book in which she decides to get well and is promptly and unrealistically fine but his characters not to mention the situations they find themselves in remain unrealistic Moreover this book is yet another testimony to the brilliance of the psychologist treating Kessa not a good thingA slight improvement on the original but not by much

Steven Levenkron ☆ 5 review Read ¹ Kessa Author Steven Levenkron å PDF, eBook or Kindle ePUB free Believable as Levenkron describes her encounters with family friends and therapist that provide insight into the conflicts and fears that anorexics face Kessa's struggles to understand the emotions and happenings that led to he. Started reading this because it s a seuel to The best little girl in the world which is an incisive and revelatory if slightly oversimplified look at what it means to have or be around anorexia nervosa Unfortunately this book does not live up to its predecessor It was nice to find out what happened to Kessa but it was a real chore getting through this one
