Secret War

Secret War Summary Ê 8 Read & Download ↠ eBook, ePUB or Kindle PDF Ý Brian Michael Bendis S super villains He puts together a black ops team consisting of Spider Man Wolverine Daredevil Captain America and Luke Cage to combat this shadowy thre. Well now I know why marvel gave Bendis the keys to the Avengers back in mid 2000 s So what s secret war Well Fury needed a mission complete One he knew wouldn t be possible after his own goverment said nah we good so what does he do Recruit some of the biggest superheroes to help him complete the mission including Spider man Captain America Daredevil Logan Cage and HoweverNick Fury needs to cross a very dark line One that shouldn t be crossed when fighting for good but he does anyway and what happens when those heroes don t remember it Good The art is solid and shows some great emotions on the faces The fights are brutal and intense The pacing is crazy uick with a lot of twist and turns and some emotional great moments The banter works really well and the characters you expect to do the most do it I also really enjoyed the ending Bad Some of the art work makes it hard to follow what s happening I also think some of the plotting structure wise can be a bit confusing at times Overall this is a dark take on Nick Fury s motives and mission It shows who he is really and also gives a lot of reasons to want the heroes in here working together which is what basically forms the New Avengers So I can see why Bendis was given the keys to the Avengers after this mini series A 4 out of 5

Secret War Summary Ê 8 Read & Download ↠ eBook, ePUB or Kindle PDF Ý Brian Michael Bendis Colonel Nick Fury Director of the global intelligence agency SHIELD discovers that a sinister mastermind is bankrolling some of the world's most dangerou. Nick Fury discovers that the Latverian government is secretly bankrolling a bunch of second rate supervillains to cause terror stateside and decides to take the fight to their doorstep with a little help from his friends Except the superheroes don t know how far Fury is willing to go to protect his homelandI honestly thought Secret War might be good as it s from around the time of Brian Michael Bendis Daredevil run which is superb But nope Secret War is an utter nightmare of a mess from start to finish This might be Bendis worst written book I couldn t have told you what the story or the point of anything was until the second half of the final issue that s how vague and badly structured it is Because of that I didn t give a fig over anything that was happening up to that point as I was so confused The explanation we eventually get while enlightening things slightly is still lousy The time jumps from a year ago to the present as well as the overall seuencing are poorly laid out and don t help you make sense of the already shaky story Characters are in Latveria in one scene and then uestioning whether they were there in another which is just baffling to see No clue either why Fury picked these specific superheroes for his Secret War There s a villain but she only appears briefly towards the end she s not anyone recognisable so nothing to get excited about and there are an overabundance of the usual big dumb fight scenes that eat up the page count and aren t in the least bit interesting Gabriele Dell Otto s painted artwork is very pretty though it s a little too heavy on the blacks making the pages murky looking Daisy Johnson one of the main characters from the Agents of SHIELD TV show is introduced in this book and she s weirdly drawn exactly like Angelina Jolie in Hackers why It s so bizarre Though it s only five issues long the book is heavily padded out with a ton of dreary secret files of Nick Fury crap which consist of character profiles transcripts from interviews nothing worth reading basically Secret War is a sloppily executed story and a horribly boring read I just don t get the point of this one was it some kind of criticism of Bush s War on Terror If so I don t know what we were meant to take away from it It s bad Was it to make Nick Fury look like a crazy bloodthirsty lunatic why Just awful awful stuff Secret War is the comics euivalent of a Hack Snyder movie

Secret War Summary Ê 8 Read & Download ↠ eBook, ePUB or Kindle PDF Ý Brian Michael Bendis At But one year later the past comes back to haunt the team as events begin to unfold that could threaten both their lives and the lives of heir loved on. Nick Fury finds a disturbing connection between a tech villain and the government of Latveria He leads and misleads a team of superheroes in a preemptive strike against Latveria s prime minister Lucia Von Bardas claiming it as a defensive move to prevent terrorist attacks Hilarity ensuesThe title seems to indicate it s going to relate to the Secret Wars of 1985 but the story is actually an allegory about war in general and a couple in particular some Americans might be familiar with Bendis seems to do a very nice job covering all of his bases when describing Fury s motives and his point of view It s a relevant story dealing with real world issues that made me think and that s generally the highest praise I can give a comic book My only complaint is that the end seemed incomplete but that makes sense if this really is an allegory view spoilerSome reviewers seemed to think we were supposed to sympathize with Fury s decision to essentially invade Latveria but I think it s obviously the opposite Fury was wrong to go rogue mislead people he thought were too soft to do what was necessary essentially assassinate the leader of another nation and then mind wipe every hero involved All he did was bring a massive retaliatory attack back on them essentially causing the thing he set out to stop hide spoiler
