review Japanese Schoolgirl Confidential è PDF, eBook or Kindle ePUB free Ines video games advertising and music WIRED Magazine has kept an eye on the trends emerging from these stylish teens following kick ass schoolgirl characters in videogames like Street Fighter and assassin schoolgirls in movies like uentin Tarantino's Kill BillBy talking to Japanese women including former and current J Pop idols well known actresses models writers and artists along with famous Japanese film directors historians and marketers authors Brian Ashcraft and Shoko Ueda who have both contributed to WIRED's Japanese Schoolgirl Watch columns reveal the true Remember that the author is a journalist so there isn t a lot in the way of academic integrity His research methods unsurprisingly are convenience based and often the result of limited surveying He can t decide whether he s writing a piece for a magazine or a serious investigation into this uniue culture There are some sentences that stand out for being too much like an attempt at prose especially when they are plonked at the beginning of a typical magazine interview Do I need to hear the author comment poetically on the condensation that forms on somebody s tea cup Not when this book spends 90% of it s time attempting to be factualIt seems that the author had good intentions with this book and in spite of my bitching it s definitely an interesting read Unfortunately the entire book is let down by its delivery For instance there is a moderate introduction to the book that justifies its purpose as well as a bibliography stuck at the back but the isn t one word of a conclusion Instead it just stops abruptly at the end of what turns out to be the last chapter It seems odd that someone trying so hard to at least appear academic forgot to include this simple device For the reader it sticks out as a glaring omission that leaves you feeling a bit unsatisfied to say the leastHowever it was an interesting read just not one I will tell my anthropological friends to use as a reference If you re interested in reading how this sub culture are so responsible for many fashionable and technological trends give it a look Just remember the punch line was left out Sermons and Discourses 1730 1733 The Works of Jonathan Edwards Series Volume 17 you feeling a bit unsatisfied to say the leastHowever it was an interesting read just not one I will tell my anthropological friends to use as a reference If Wild Storm you re interested in reading how this sub culture are so responsible for many fashionable and technological trends give it a look Just remember the punch line was left out
