One Wore Blue review º eBook or Kindle ePUB read ´ eBook or Kindle ePUB ↠ Heather Graham True to the Union cause as he was treasonous to his rebel roots Even as war engulfed them all he would find his greatest adversary in the beauty who'd branded him a traitor the woman he was born to posses. 35 starsBeing ten years younger then Jesse Cameron Kiernan had to wait to grow up until she caught his eye but watch out when he returns on leave and gets one look at her she is the woman for him for life That said things are heating up between the North and the South and Keirnan s southern sympathies are no big secret and she s none too happy when Jesse stays with the Union Army She marries on the rebound is promptly widowed this is revealed in the first few pages and vows to hate Jesse forever but will that ole treacherous body betray her when the Union soldiers including Jessecome marching up to her doorstepThis is a uick easy read and perfect for a rainy Sunday afternoon when you re in the mood for something lighter While Jesse and Kiernan have plenty of ups and downs in their relationships and plenty of making up I wouldn t classify it as a Big Misunderstanding There is a fair amount of sex in the book occasionally on the cheesy side so definitely not recommended for the younger readers and I d also caution potential readers that while this is a romance the author does include a lot of history in this with some details of politics and discussion of major battles I m a history geek and love that stuff but from reading some of the other reviews there are those who don t care for that and if so perhaps this book might not suit your tastes to each their own as long as you re reading This is the first in a trilogy the other two being And One Wore Gray And One Rode West

I really enjoyed this one it s made it onto my favorites shelf and the hero made it into my Harem of Men heheThere is something automatically sexy about a male doctor then throw in the wealthy southern background amid the war and his rank as an officer and he is romantic and dreamy That is Jesse Cameron I loved him he made the book great I loved how he stuck with his beliefs by staying in the Union army when the Civil War broke out He didn t resign and join the Confederacy when Virginia seceded Jesse believed that for their country to survive the union needed to stay together so he fought on the side of the Yankees and against his own brother Kiernan got on my nerves sometimes She seemed so childish She was clearly in love with Jesse and admitted it but refused to marry him because he was a Yankee Her hatred of Yankees ran deep with no clear explanation as to why she hated them so much The only being that they invaded her land took over her house and killed her husband but this was after the war started and her hatred began before these events occurred I suppose it was implied she hated Yankees for taking away the Southern Plantation life she was used to by the North s wish to end slavery But then later on she comes to realize that Blue or Gray a man was still a man underneath It should ve been with that realization that she knew she could marry Jesse the man beneath the blue union But she still refuses to marry him because he s a Yankee She got frustrating and I totally sympathized with the hero s frustration I loved the scene when he finally got Kiernan to confess that she loves him He d been shot and fell to the ground She believed him dying and then finally admitted that she loved him and always had always will He teases her and then she notices that he s not mortally wounded and dying but that the bullet had only grazed his arm Definitely recommend if you re into Civil War romances

One Wore Blue review º eBook or Kindle ePUB read ´ eBook or Kindle ePUB ↠ Heather Graham HER REBEL SPIRIT DEFIED HIS YANKEE SOULShe was velvet and silk emerald eyes and sunstruck hair Kiernan Miller had married one man to protect her from another She hated Jesse Cameron with a fierce passion B. This novel of the Civil War is the first in a trilogy about the Camerons a wealthy Virginia plantation family who find their loyalties divided when the Civil War breaks out Most of this novel is told from the point of view of Kiernan Mackay the spirited and beautiful neighbor of the Camerons who has loved the oldest Cameron brother Jesse for most of her life Time and circumstances finally collaborate to get this couple together but their bliss is short lived when their beloved Virginia secedes from the Union and the lovers find themselves on opposite sides of the divide and neither is willing to compromise on their convictions Jesse an army surgeon rides off to the North leaving Kiernan behind in the little town of Harper s Ferry which is about to find itself in the middle of a tug of war between the Union and the Confederacy But war has a way of tearing people apart and throwing them back together in dramatic fashion and as the bloody conflict rages on Kiernan and Jesse begin to uestion their ideals their loyalities and their feelings for each other This novel borderlines on being a bodice ripper and it is a bit on the melodramatic side but it s delicious and well researched and I couldn t put it down I ve already put the next book in the trilogy on my wishlistOn a side note another reason I enjoyed this novel so much is that I ve visited Harper s Ferry in my travels and really liked the little town and I thought the author did a great job of recreating it in her novel If you re interested check out the post I wrote on Harper s Ferry as part of my Time Travelers feature
